Late last month, IDTechEx hosted a virtual conference, entitled “Opportunities for Printed & Flexible Electronics.” While this event has already been broadcast, that doesn’t mean you can’t still listen to it: the conference, including its Q&A session at the end, was recorded for your viewing pleasure. After a welcome and introduction by IDTechEx CEO Raghu Das, the agenda consisted of several interesting topics, including “High & Lows of Printed Electronics From an End User Perspective” by Rafael Michalczuk from Swarovski and “Scalable 3D Printed Electronics – “Fully Additive to High Volume Manufacture” by Dr. Martin Hedges with Neotech AMT GmbH. After the Q&A, Das discussed the growth opportunities for printed and flexible electronics during COVID-19.

ASTM Design for Additive Manufacturing Webinar
Standards organization ASTM International is hosting a two-part virtual training series on Design for Additive Manufacturing, or DfAM, which will provide attendees with an overview of the various aspects of AM design concepts. The first session, from 10-11:30 AM ET on June 9th, will be taught by Professor David W. Rosen, School of Mechanical Engineering at the Georgia Institute of Technology and Research Director of the Digital Manufacturing and Design Centre at the Singapore University of Technology & Design, and will introduce attendees to design validation and the ASTM F42 standards for design. At the same time on June 23rd, Dr. Eujn Pei, the Director for Postgraduate Research and Director for Product Design Engineering at Brunel University London, will teach the second session, helping attendees build their understanding of the digital thread.

Virtual Game Day by America Makes and Wohlers
Partnering with Wohlers Associates, Ohio-based America Makes has announced that the second Virtual Game Day Series Event will be held on Thursday, June 18th, from 12-2:30 PM ET. The interactive event will feature a panel, moderated by Terry Wohlers, where the aim will be to talk about how additive manufacturing addresses distributed manufacturing and gaps in the supply chain. The panelists, each covering a different part of the supply chain, will be Mike Shannon, HP’s Senior Strategic Plastics Sourcing Program Manager; Cullen Hilkene, the CEO and Founder of 3Diligent; and Lou Rassey, the CEO of Fast Radius. Participants will be able to network directly with industry leaders, peers, and the panelists, and members of America Makes can also sponsor a “virtual table” for free.
