BMW 3D Printing Production Process | Additive Manufacturing | Mega Factories
Here is a look at the prototype production process in BMW’s newly opened Advanced Additive Manufacturing Campus, Additive manufacturing or commonly called as 3D printing is a process of manufacturing products by printing them just like a printer but in this case, it prints upwards hence forming a three dimensional shape. BMW has been researching on additive manufacturing for three decades since 1990.
Additive manufacturing holds a lot of potential in future production process, as complex and organic structures can be made through this process. which will be impossible to recreate through any other production process.
This also gives engineers opportunity to develop and design products since now they are not bound by the limitations of the traditional production process.
